Job Overview The Driver is responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently within designated local or regional routes. This position requires operating standard heavy trucks in compliance with all DOT and company safety regulations. Drivers are expected to manage routine vehicle inspections, complete necessary shipping documentation accurately, and provide courteous service to customers and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy trucks safely and responsibly following all DOT and company guidelines. Transport goods to and from specified locations according to established schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs. Manage shipping documentation, including delivery logs and bills of lading. Coordinate loading and unloading activities, ensuring cargo is properly secured. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to provide status updates and clarify delivery instructions. Address and respond to unexpected issues such as route changes, traffic delays, or minor vehicle problems. Ensure adherence to safety standards and participate in ongoing safety training. Work Environment The Driver position is based in a manufacturing environment and involves exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, and dust from production processes. Drivers will frequently operate and interact with machinery and equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols. The role may require overtime and occasional weekend work based on business needs.
