Research Technician I

The Hadland lab is seeking a part-time Research Technician to work in a collaborative laboratory environment researching the mechanisms of hematopoietic stem cell development and leukemogenesis. The focus of our lab is to unravel the dynamic intercellular interactions and signal pathways governing the generation of blood and immune cells during embryonic development and apply this knowledge toward engineering novel approaches for the study and treatment of blood and immune disorders.

The Research Technician will be responsible for performing standard and investigative laboratory work in support of scientific research by performing bench-level experiments; operating analytical instruments; recovering, compiling and verifying the accuracy of research data; performing calculations; and preparing charts, graphs and summaries.

Perform experiments at the bench level to support investigative work.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, stocks, cultures and cell lines.
• Perform and modify documented protocols and assays.
• Maintain laboratory records and compile data on experiments and assays.
• Interpret and report on experimental results.
• Perform statistical analysis of test results and prepare written reports on work performed.
• Operate and carry out basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Order and maintain appropriate levels of supplies.
• May supervise work-study students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated scientific knowledge in the area of study.
• Demonstrated basic laboratory skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience in Machine Learning and Biomedical research.
• Independent research experience separate from school lab experience.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.87 to $32.56 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
