THIS POSITION IS OPEN FOR UCONN STUDENTS ONLY International students MUST obtain approval from ISSS for this specific position before applying POSITION SUMMARY As a Husky Storyteller at the UConn Foundation, you will be a vital part of our donor engagement strategy. In this role, you will serve as a direct liaison between the UConn Foundation and our alumni, parents, students, and friends. Through personalized phone outreach, supported by email, text, video, and social media, you will build meaningful relationships, share the impact of giving, and inspire philanthropic support for UConn. This position is ideal for students who are passionate about communication, storytelling, and making a tangible difference in the UConn community. Primary Responsibilities
- Lead outreach efforts through the calling program, connecting with alumni, donors, and friends to steward donors, engage constituents, update records, and secure donations.
- Participate in all aspects of video production to produce a steady stream of video projects.
- Work within organization marketing standards and guidelines.
- Produce simple, straight-forward, "authentic" video (using your phone to capture of-the-moment, compelling content)
- Edit videos via tools such as iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Capcut
- Script and storyboard individual and/or team videos
- Serve as on-camera talent for the video produced by you and your fellow Husky Storyteller teammates.
- Attend campus events or interviewing subjects to give alumni and supporters an "inside-look" at UConn campus life.
- Create messaging which allows for engaging with students, alumni, parents, and friends of the university through multiple channels to inspire philanthropic giving.
- Serve as an ambassador for the UConn Foundation by discussing University initiatives, accolades, and accomplishments
Experience and Skills
Key Competencies
- Ability to confidently and professionally engage with individuals over the phone to solicit donations and participation in annual giving initiatives.
- Digital information fluency skills, including familiarity with and demonstrated savvy on multiple social media networks including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral, written, and digital communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, Data Entry, Outlook, and ESP), detail oriented, punctual and reliable, professional, and ability to use professional judgment particularly as it relates to digital engagement content
- Customer service and/or sales experience preferred, non-profit fundraising experience a plus.
- Must be available during the academic year.
- Must be available during regular business hours as well as some night and weekend work.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning donor related and other information.

- Enrollment at the University of Connecticut
- A student in good standing related to grade point average and student code of conduct.
