Job Summary

Under general direction, responsible for the supervision and coordination of custodial operations. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Monitors compliance, operational performance and participates in long-range planning.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $63,700 - $136,100 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Solid knowledge of hospital, warehouse or industrial janitorial cleaning.
  • Ability to establish and maintain work standards adhering to health and safety requirements.
  • Supervisory experience in a healthcare facility with working knowledge of human resources management practices and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant government, regulatory, and industry codes, policies, standards and requirements. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas to a diverse staff population.
  • Solid decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage conflicting demands.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Intermediate computer application skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to deliver staff training and develop staff competencies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

CHESP - Certified Health Care Environmental Services professional certification
