Sponsor non-routine I&RM projects from start to finish. Lead I&RM due diligence for new assets or divestitures sponsored by external GTM groups. Represent I&RM department in cross-functional teams and committees passionate about strategic asset management initiatives-ensuring Integrity plans are communicated and coordinated for efficient pipeline operation. Independently manage diverse projects, coordinating work in Integrity with broad business and technical expertise. Understand technical issues, adapt design, demonstrate knowledge, manage projects, seek solutions, communicate openly. Develop/support initial project scopes for collaborative projects and obtain funding approvals, including preparing and presenting business case(s). This requires working with Pipeline Integrity groups to prepare the technical supporting documentation and engaging with other departments in GTM to facilitate asset-based recommendations. Sponsor I&RM projects from start to finish, analyzing documentation and participating in review activities. Sponsorship covers individual projects or project portfolios (often over $100MM); projects include pipeline replacement, recoating, hydrotests, hazard remediation, modifications, and protection. Manage project sponsorship: develop proposals; evaluate risks; secure funds; coordinate approvals and communications. Help develop I&RM annual capital budget and Long Range Plan by concentrating on non-routine Integrity projects. Apply Enbridge's risk-informed decision tools for project submissions. Ensuring Integrity plans are communicated and integrated for optimal pipeline operation. Serve as a liaison for I&RM on project-related functions both within Enbridge and externally, including project execution, asset management, gas control, commercial marketing, regulators, customers, and external information requests. Lead I&RM asset for pipelines. Understand Integrity Science, threat overview, and make balanced business recommendations to senior leadership. Proactively maintain and promote intradepartmental relationships within I&RM as well as interdepartmental relationships (between I&RM and other Enbridge/GTM business units). Handle complex technical tasks independently, making effective decisions with minimal supervision. Support or lead the development and future enhancement of Systems Integrity regarding specific INTEGRITY PROJECTS group process and procedural documents, such as preliminary project scope definition, argument, workflows, and presentation templates, employing streamlined Decision Effectiveness (RAPID) models where practicable. Provide mentoring, training, and direction to I&RM departmental staff, contractors, and consultants. Maintain/expand a network of consultants and suppliers to ensure industry-leading practices are developed and implemented. Monitor industry sources for technical innovations to augment I&RM integrity programs, and proactively look for opportunities to influence industry standards and practices.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience is required. Preference for candidate to be registered as a professional engineer (P.Eng. and/or PE). Minimum 7 years related experience required; technical or operational background also considered. Strong Project Management skills with demonstrated previous experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer - developing schedules, track actions, and drive projects to completion. Successfully prioritize multiple projects to meet task, deliverable, and schedule requirements while managing collaborator expectations. Ability to show broad business and technical knowledge in solving problems, project management, finding opportunities, and having a keen awareness of connections with other collaborators. Strong facilitation, collaboration, and negotiation skills to influence and drive-forward results and decisions without formal authority. Skilled in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to use other engineering/technical computer applications. Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, with peers, management, internal/external collaborators, customers, partners, and team members. Self-motivated, independent, innovative, responsible, and a great teammate with a strong work ethic and initiative. Able to travel throughout North America (US and Canada) for business purposes.
