- Oversees work experience activities for students in coordination with vocational instructors and the Center Industry to include assistance with job application and interview process, student/site evaluations and job exiting process
- Works with campus staff, employers, organized labor, and the community to establish and maintain Work-Based Learning site MOUs and agreements that meet the needs of students.
- Facilitates meetings and activities to bring together the appropriate persons, including employers, instructors, students, and center staff to ensure the success of the Work-Based Learning program.
- Serves as liaison with both the Career Technical Training and Career Transition Services departments in facilitating the coordination of the campuses Work-Based Learning program.
- Visits established work sites at least bi-monthly to cultivate work site relationships. Coordinate, periodically, guest speakers in career training classrooms to allow the vocational instructors to visit work sites and trainees as required for the success of the Work-Based Learning program. This could include Job Corps graduates, local employer partners or workforce/one-stop allies. Submits monthly WBL activity report.
- Assist with job application and interview processes, student/site evaluations and job exiting processes.
- Conduct job development for both work base learning sites and permanent job positions for students completing the program.
- Ensure all eligible students participate in Work Based Learning.
- Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
- Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
- Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
- Attends all required staff training opportunities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- Two years related experience required.
- Experience working with diverse youth.
- A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
