Overview
At First Citizens Bank, our commitment to data integrity and governance is foundational to how we serve our clients and manage risk. We are seeking a Data Governance Policy Adherence and Monitoring Senior Analyst to join our Enterprise Data Governance team. This role will play a key part in owning the end-to-end design and ongoing optimization of our data governance policy adherence and monitoring framework. The individual will partner with oversight partners and the data governance reporting team to establish and execute a robust adherence and testing framework. Responsibilities Own the end-to-end design of the policy adherence and monitoring framework: Translate data governance requirements into measurable control objectives and evidence specifications. Keep the framework relevant through quarterly reviews and industry trend analysis. Establish and execute adherence testing playbook: Build risk-based sampling logic, test scripts, and pass/fail criteria; schedule and run periodic assurance cycles that validate adherence to policy requirements. Design a robust sampling and testing methodology for policy adherence: Sampling rules and test scripts that verify adherence to each policy requirement, ensuring the approach is repeatable, auditable, and scalable. Partner with oversight and reporting teams: Partner with Business Risk & Controls, Operational Risk Management, and Internal Audit teams on establishing and maintaining policy adherence and testing framework Provide transparent adherence reporting: Compile and deliver concise reporting packages for executive and regulatory audiences that quantify adherence scores, emerging risks, remediation progress. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or similar OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or similar At least 4 years of experience in data governance, data risk, audit, or data control functions, ideally within a regulated industry Experience in designing/implementing policy adherence testing frameworks Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively Ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholders Works well under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills Benefits are an integral part of total rewards and First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a competitive, thoughtfully designed and quality benefits program to meet the needs of our associates.
