Position Summary

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is an independent nonprofit organization authorized by Congress in 2010. PCORI is committed to continually seeking input from a broad range of stakeholders to guide its work.

P&PE intern will have the opportunity to:

  • Review research plans, progress reports, and other narrative information from PCORI Research Awards.
  • Assist with data analysis and thematic coding of engagement information into Salesforce.
  • Review materials, support programmatic work, and assist with the coordination of high-priority PCORI Engagement initiatives such as the Foundational Expectations for Partnerships in Research and the Science of Engagement PFA.
  • Report data across PCORI-funded awardees.
  • Increase knowledge of engagement practices within pragmatic clinical research.
  • Provide input into the development of materials on the updated rubric for patients, caregivers, patient advocates, and other stakeholders.

Pay Range and Employment Status:

Interns shall be classified as temporary employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary workers are not eligible for PCORI benefits.

  • Bachelor's hourly pay: $17.50
  • Master's and above hourly pay: $20.00

Required Experience

Ideal candidates will be pursuing their postgraduate education in Public Health, Community Health, Anthropology, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Public Policy, Epidemiology, or related fields of study.

  • Experience in qualitative data analysis, synthesizing data/information from various sources, and identifying themes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects.
  • Strong written, oral, and communication skills, including presentations.
  • Knowledge or interest in community outreach, coalition building, and management is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office. Proficiency in Atlas TI is ideal.
