HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and consultant to assigned departments and leaders. The HRBP partners with leaders to align business objectives with people strategies that foster a high-performing mission-driven culture that inspires excellence and accountability. People's strategies include fostering a culture that is positive, safe, inclusive, and that promotes empathy and compassion and motivates team members to contribute their best. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations issues, conducting investigations, conflict resolution and coaching; recommend and support initiatives that promote employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand operational goals and design HR strategies that support business objectives by providing insight and guidance on workforce trends, organization effectiveness and expectations, and culture building initiatives.
  • Partner and collaborate with Centers of Excellence to deliver seamless support to the organization.
  • Partner with labor leaders and management on the interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement and respond to grievances.
  • Guide and support leaders through periods of organizational change, helping manage communication, transitions and impact on people.
  • Facilitate New Team Member Orientation.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Candidate with prior experience working with Unions highly preferred. This role will need someone who is comfortable creating and maintaining relationships with all of our business partners and leadership teams. This position will be responsible for their set teams and work closely with fellow HR business partners for streamlined communication and collaboration.

JOB EXPERIENCE



  • Must have at least 4 years of experience in managing complex people issues in a Human Resources setting
  • Experience in a Zoological setting preferred



EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred
  • Obtain SHRM Certification within 1 year upon hire required



SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE



  • Strong working knowledge of employment-related laws, labor relations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly utilize HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to effectively counsel employees and management regarding human resources issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a diverse environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other organization software systems.
