Responsibilities

Quail Surgical and Pain Management Center in Reno, Nevada, is an outpatient surgical center dedicated to providing high-quality patient care. Established by a group of community physicians, the goals of the founding physicians have not changed since they were established in 1999. These goals focus on:

  • Streamlining the delivery of medical care so it is patient-centered to provide the highest quality services.
  • Making the outpatient surgery experience less anxiety producing.
  • Utilizing the most cost-effective measures for the patient and the healthcare delivery system so we can provide safe and affordable quality care.
  • Providing an environment which is aesthetically pleasing for the patient, physician and employee that promotes patient friendliness.
  • Reducing the risk of infection for our patients by always adhering to the most current safety standards in the industry.

This Scrub Tech opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient flexible schedule. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Scrub Tech will demonstrate competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to the procedure. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs surgical team functions under the direct supervision of a registered nurse
  • prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for surgical procedures
  • Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventative measures
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of and compliance with safety policies and procedures, recognizes safety hazards, and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventative measures

Qualifications

* Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.

* Surgical Technician Certification required (within 6 months of hire) or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.

* Current BLS Certification.
