- Oversees and ensures inventory levels in all areas, escalates concerns as needed.
- Establish and maintain system locations to locate inventory.
- Set up and resize new parts locations as needed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory within assigned areas by reviewing reports and bins, requesting replenishment as required.
- Monitor stock outs for program part areas.
- Create work orders and purchase orders as needed.
- Assist in distributing parts to outside service vendors.
- Resolve WO reporting issues to ensure inventory is accurate.
- Use system reports to monitor and work with purchasing/planning to resolve potential stock-outs.
- Conduct cycle counts, reconcile inventory records and determine cause of errors. Recommend corrective actions or procedures.
- Works directly with the departments in resolving inventory process issues, and executes root cause, contain, and countermeasure.
- Monitor steel backflush locations and adjust in a timely manner.
- Review reports for inactive parts.
- Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the stockroom area.
- Establish standardized work for related processes.
- Develop, maintain and distributes measurement reports as required.
- Coordinate KanBan cards shortages.
- Conduct critical component monitoring. Facilitate component shortages, replenishment and works with cross-functional teams to resolve shortages.
- Coordinate and communicate with other shifts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the warehouse through the deployment of the Lean methodology.
- Execute and coordinate training for inventory control employees to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
JOB CRITERIA: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 5+ years degree in business or related field, preferred.
- 5+ years experience in Material Flow.
- APICS Certification, preferred.
- PC skills (Business System Software such as JDE; Excel).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge in all material flow processes.
- Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving.
- Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications.
- Ability to conduct operator training to include: work instructions, quality and procedures as required.
- Ability to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
- Ability to function in a high stress, high pressure environment.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems with unique solutions.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
