SUMMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned, including but not limited to housekeeping, cross training and operator level maintenance in support of equipment operation. Responsibilities also include attention to safety according to specific training and safety rules. 1. Unloads trucks as they arrive with materials, if receiving personnel are not available. 2. Opens boxes, crates, and other containers. 3. Identifies purchase order number on computer and marks or tags materials with Talley part number and bar code label. 4. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. 5. Sets up stock location for new parts not previously stocked. 6. Dispenses materials, tools, or supplies to production workers. 7. Uses computer terminal to record amounts of materials or items received or distributed, thus maintaining inventory records. 8. Participates in periodic cycle counts. 9. Maintains security of stores area. QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING High School Diploma or GED.
