Analytics group is part of London Stock Exchange Group's Data & Analytics Technology division Analytics has established a very strong reputation for providing prudent and reliable analytic solutions to financial industries. With a strong presence in the North America financial markets and a rapidly growing in other markets, the group is now looking to increase its market share globally by building new capabilities as Analytics as Service - A one stop shop solution for all Analytics need through API and Cloud first approach.

Position Summary:

Analytics DevOps group is looking for highly motivated and skilled Software Release Engineer to join our dynamic team to help us build, deploy, and maintain our cloud and on-prem infrastructure and applications. You will be responsible for practicing and overseeing the software build and release process, ensuring the application and system delivered on time, within scope, and meet the quality standards. This role typically involves coordinating between different teams (engineering, development, operations, Quality assurance) and ensuring that all aspects of software deployment are well-organized and executed effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Release planning, Build & Coordination: Define and manage release process, including maintaining release calendar, scheduling and coordinating release across the teams. Works closely with development and co-ordinate with other teams to ensure successful deployment with minimal disruptions.
  • Build, deployment and configuration management: Manage deployment processes, including building of the code, automated (CI/CD) and non-automated deployments, ensuring proper configuration and the environment (development, pre-production, production) are setup correctly for each release.
  • Issue resolution & Risk management: Identify and manage potential risk related to releases, and co-ordinate effort to resolve the issue or release blocker. Monitor and troubleshoot pre & post-release issues, and work with relevant team to resolve them quickly.
  • Change Management & Reporting: Support and implement change management procedures to ensure software release follow established policies and compliance requirements. Track and report on release performance, including documented release notes, feature, bug fixes, known issues, and release metrics such as deployment frequency, success rate, and post-release issues.
  • Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Work with QA team ensure release meets the quality and performance standards and ensure that the regression and smoke test are properly conducted before release and continue to evaluate and improve the release process to increase the efficiency of and reduce risk through automation of manual process.

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in software development, QA or IT operations
  • Relevant certification (e.g: Agile or Scrum, ITIL, PMP) are plus
  • Strong working experience with Linux/Unix systems
  • Knowledge of release management tools: Jira, Gitlab, Octopus Deploy
  • Knowledge of version control systems - Git, SVN, CVS
  • Experience with CI/CD & Configuration Mgmt tools - GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Bash, Python or Groovy.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is huge plus
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems in fast-paced environments, and ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple release simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Working in Agile/Scrum environment is plus

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $73,800 - $123,200. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
