*Description*
JOB DESCRIPTION Under direction of the Human Resources Manager & EEO Officer, the HR Generalist I provides professional level human resources support to the Human Resources division, designated agency departments, and designated judicial partners, develops knowledge of and builds relationships with management and employees, and is responsible for daily human resources transactions, including recruitment, benefits, training, and enforcing agency policies and practices. This position is in Atlanta, Georgia and requires in person Monday through Friday. Job Responsibilities (the following examples do not cover all the duties that may be performed): * Collects and compiles human resources metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management, employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, state practices, and other sources. * Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. * Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. * Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. * Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. * Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. * Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; manages internal and external job postings. * Performs administrative and record-keeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence. * Supports agency-wide information meetings such as all staff meetings, open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in policies, benefits, and retirement plans. Assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, and other compliance reviews. * Provides guidance to staff and judicial partners regarding employee relations, personnel policies, and employee review processes, at the request of and under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager & EEO Officer. * Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. * Performs other duties assigned. *Skills* Workday HCM, Human resources, Human resources management system hrms, performance management, Microsoft booking, backgrounds, Recruiting hiring *Top Skills Details* Workday HCM,Human resources,Human resources management system hrms,performance management,Microsoft booking,backgrounds,Recruiting hiring *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Minimum Training and Experience: * Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND three years of experience with HRIS systems or similar employee management software. * Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, human resources, and human resources policies. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. * Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's License and ability to operate an automobile. * Ability to travel in and out-of-state, occasionally overnight, with expenses paid on a reimbursement basis. * Ability to pass background and fingerprint Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, AND one year of human resources management experience. * Proficiency Workday HCM * SHRM-CP/SCP Certification * State of Georgia Applicant Tracking System (Taleo) Technical Competencies * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. * Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. * Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. * Ability to observe the confidentiality of the AOC and stakeholders. Physical Requirements * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. * Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
