OSI Laser Diode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics has an opening for an Accountant. This individual will be responsible for recording, reporting, and maintaining the company's financial transactions. They will also prepare financial statements, ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and analyze financial data to provide insights to corporate and local entities. In addition, they will involve tasks such as preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, as well as assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Generation and review of site level financials (preparing Journal Entries as required, Inventory Reserve analysis), review with local management team/Department leads and submit results for consolidation.
- Collaborate with site management and Opto Finance to create annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and financial models.
- Other Accounting related items such as: Inventory Cycle Count reporting, AP, AR and Credit Card activities.
- Other items as needed including: Petty Cash disbursements/reconciliation, Filing functions, collaboration with on-site IT support and backup of other local team members as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial strategies and operational goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership and functional leaders, providing financial guidance and support to drive business performance.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from local and corporate management

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required. MBA or CPA desired.
- Must have 2+ years' experience in similar Accounting roles - e.g. posting of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, variance analysis, business analysis, financial modeling and forecasting. Experience in manufacturing, Consumer Products or Durable Goods highly preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP requirements and financial reporting procedures required.
- Experience with financial systems/applications (i.e. Hyperion, Essbase, Oracle, SAP, etc); Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365/Navision strongly desired.
- Must be able to effectively utilize data to provide insightful analysis and prudent recommendations.
- Proficiency in building management-facing Microsoft Excel models and PowerPoint presentations required.
- Strong project management skills: ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines is needed.
- Must have strong communication skills with the ability to present confidently to management is required.
- Strong work ethic; proven track record for delivering on commitments is essential.
- Experience working positively and productively in a highly collaborative team environment is needed.
- Must be able to complete job responsibilities working with different time zone needs such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet global business needs.
