As a Westinghouse Nuclear Instrumentation and Control Engineer, you will be part of a high performing team assisting on a variety of projects to help new or existing nuclear power plants implement world class nuclear instrumentation signal processing and control systems. You will work with experienced colleagues to develop new designs and help upgrade and refresh existing designs to the state-of-the-art in a growing field with countless opportunities for deep technical growth.

Instrumentation & Control Engineer Responsibilities:



  • Support engineering team for the creation of drawings and design/technical specifications Nuclear Instrumentation Systems.
  • Compile technical documents / specifications for procurement/manufacturing.
  • Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence.
  • Support supplier and/or manufacturing operations with technical issue resolution.
  • Support development of system and hardware design specifications for Instrumentation and Control systems for both new and existing plants.
  • Support creation ofhardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics.
  • Support Test document creation and test execution.
  • Develop test procedures from System Design and Software Requirement documents.
  • Support root cause investigation of defects and coordinate defect tracking efforts.
  • Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues.
  • Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international).


Qualifications:



  • BS in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or degree with relevant industry experience. New graduate engineers encouraged to apply.
  • 0+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter.
  • Strong technical interest, including a desire and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles.
  • Ability to work within a team and coordinate external support, as needed, to successfully complete project scope.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) analyses basis, summary of results, proposed solutions, and implementation instructions to customers and team members.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis/design desired.
  • Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment use (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, etc.) is preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of overall design and operation of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and systems is preferred but not required.
  • Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings and panel layouts is a plus.
