Manage a team of annuity External Wholesalers (Regional Vice Presidents) in the Northeast part of the country. The purpose of the DVP role is to hire, train, and manage wholesalers to grow sales of annuity products for Protective Life in the Independent channel covering the western half of the US.
Required Experience: - Experience in annuity sales management in wholesaling organizations
- 15+ years industry experience--part or all should include working with the Independent Channel
- Able to effectively communicate between management and External Wholesalers
- Highly organized
- Able to work independently and motivate in a team environment
- Exceptional knowledge and experience with Variable Annuities
- Knowledge and experience with FIA's
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to train and educate
- Proven sales skills and sales process
- Operate within an established expense budget
-Ability to network with Centers of Influence
Helpful Experience: -Knowledge and use of Sequoia wholesaling methodology
-Experience within a P&C distribution partner
-Knowledge of Microsoft DRM contact management system
Required Licenses: -Life and annuity licenses for resident state
-FINRA Series 7, 6, 63
-FINRA Series 26 or 24 (preferred or obtained within first 6 months)
Duties:
-Recruit, develop, educate, and lead individual External Wholesalers within an assigned region. Manage each individual toward specific sales goals, producer relationships and expenses for their respective territories, as well as manage an assigned region toward specific sales goals.
-The DVP will travel weekly with the External Wholesalers in their region to provide education and support in growing the individual territories. In addition to travel with the wholesalers, there will be expectations to attend several meetings throughout the year. For example, Leadership meetings, national and divisional sales meetings, and partner meetings.
-Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive business plan and expense budget for assigned region. The plan will include among other things wholesaler territory routing, scheduling priorities, production projections, and Wholesaler performance reviews. Plan will also include details of how they will engage their wholesalers to help develop their territories within their region.
-The DVP will be responsible for reporting monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the VP, National Sales Manager. In addition, they will also conduct quarterly reviews for all External Wholesalers within their region, as well as periodic training sessions.
-The DVP will network with centers of influence within their division and help drive relationships and sales with OSJ's and selling groups within our key broker/dealers.
-This position is accountable for the total number of sales calls within their region, team utilization of the contact management system and managing to an expense budget.
-They will also maintain industry knowledge on annuity products at Protective Life as well as the products at of the competition.
Protective's targeted compensation for this position is $125k. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
This position also includes cash compensation as a part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
