The Position

Genentech's Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO), located in Hillsboro Oregon, is a Drug Product manufacturing facility that includes Component Prep & Compounding, Liquid/Lyophilized Filling, Inspection, Packaging and Distribution. The site is currently experiencing a period of growth, with a variety of opportunities to support optimization of our existing processes, as well as the delivery of new capabilities and technologies. We are a key component in a world-wide network of industry leading expertise and high performing pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Our work is critical in ensuring we reliably supply medicine to the millions of patients who currently depend on us, as well as reaching new patient populations.

The Opportunity:

The Head of Production Maintenance will be responsible for maintenance and calibration of critical process and facilities equipment at HTO. The leader will partner cross functionally with key engineering & maintenance teams and further support the site through leadership of maintenance services, including MRO, scheduling/planning & engineering document improvements.

  • You will ensure the Maintenance, Calibration & MRO (Spare Part) services are delivered in a safe, compliant, reliable and efficient manner to meet site needs.

  • You will manage expense and capital budgets for the Production Maintenance team and provide stewardship/oversight for site maintenance spend.

  • You will develop and implement business plan objectives with respect to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Engagement & Cost. Maintain metrics to measure performance against business objectives and drive continuous improvement.

  • You will mentor, coach, develop and recognize inside and outside the team.

  • As a member of the broader Engineering community, you will drive collaboration within site and across network activities, cross-functional planning, and decision making.

  • You will establish and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and to optimize life-cycle costs.

  • You will be an active and visible change agent, promoting flexible and open mindsets to new opportunities.

  • You will embody PT lean leadership principles and methods while fostering a continuous improvement mindset.

Who you are:

  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science field (Graduate or higher-level degree is preferred)

  • You have 8-11 years of experience (Manager level) or 12+ years of experience (Senior Manager level) pharmaceutical or related industry

  • You have previous experience leading teams, either in a formal people leadership role or through cross-functional project/program leadership

  • You have 4 or more years of facilities management, engineering or related experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • You have extensive experience working in a cGMP environment

  • You have knowledge of Maintenance and Calibration standards, central plant systems,

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels

  • You have an ability to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans

  • You have the mindset to take responsibility, drive results, and achieve expected outcomes

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Hillsboro, OR is $112,000 - $208,000 for the Manager level and $126,700 - $235,300 for the Senior Manager level . Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
