Location: 1701 Mountain Rd NW Albuquerque, NM 87104 An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Rentals Manager, the Rentals Work Study Intern is responsible for upholding Explora's customer service standards while booking and providing rental services for internal and external clients. The Rentals Work Study Intern supports the operations and logistics for rentals and adult programming events at Explora, including setting up and tearing down for events. The Rentals Work Study Intern will work closely with the Rentals Manager, Rentals & Administrative Assistant, Rentals Assistant, Adult Night Coordinator, Event Staff, and the Facilities Department. The Rentals Work Study Intern will serve as a point of contact for event vendors (including alcohol vendors), assisting with setup, teardown, and restoration of exhibit spaces to their day-to-day configuration. The Rentals Work Study Intern will serve as a backup for the Rentals Assistant in assisting with equipment maintenance. This position regularly requires work on evenings and weekends as needed and determined by the Rentals Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provides logistical and operational assistance for rentals and adult programming events, to include: FLSA status: up to 28 hours per week (part-time); non-exempt Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Requires sufficient skills to work in a business environment, including organizing, coordinating, and exercising daily decision-making * Requires standing and walking approximately 70% of the time, with regular need to perform physical actions that include sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling materials, pulling, carrying, and pushing
* Facility may expose employees to loud noise levels, temperature changes, and physical obstacles * Museum facilities may expose the incumbent to high noise levels, temperature changes, liquid nitrogen, helium gas, electrical exposure, unpredictable ventilation, dust, and physical obstacles * Work is usually performed in an area of limited privacy Application Instructions Only applications submitted through Please submit a Cover Letter and Resume.
