Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform orbital tube welding (OTW), TIG welding, and automated welding processes such as Variable Polarity Plasma Arc (VPPA) on aerospace components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute precise fabrications.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools like calipers and height gauges to ensure accuracy in all work performed.
  • Fabricate jigs, fixtures, and other metallic components in accordance with aerospace standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to strict safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on welding equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and workflows and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Team Focus & Domain Expertise:

As a Precision Welding Specialist, you will be integral to ensuring the integrity and quality of aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies. This role demands expertise in various welding methods and meticulous attention to detail to achieve required tolerances and specifications. You will perform advanced welding processes on different materials, utilizing welding metals and metal alloys to achieve precise tolerances, and employ precision blending and hand tools to meticulously prepare metallic surfaces for welding. Interpreting and executing layouts and welds according to detailed engineering drawings and specifications will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will conduct non-destructive evaluations and monitor quality in line with statistical processes and control procedures, ensuring each weld meets the highest standards. Utilizing standard and specialized equipment including gas welders, gas torches, and friction stir welding (FSW) machines, you will join metal components, applying electrical currents or friction to generate heat and create strong, permanent metal bonds.
