We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Compliance (Digital Assets Business) to join our Risk & Compliance team. This role is located in New York City. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead on Digital Assets Compliance as the BCO coverage for the business in the US and the America
- Representing Digital Assets Compliance at internal Governance Committees
- Representing Digital Assets Compliance on Regulatory Change Projects, and providing expert SME into internal program and product developments
- Developing the compliance presence and culture within the Digital Assets Business as a whole
- Developing and implementing internal Compliance policies and processes to confirm ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements as required.
- Facilitating the provision of general advice on regulatory and compliance issues arising and the application of the rules to situations and business developments
- Liaison with senior Compliance and Risk leadership across the US
- Participation in the development and implementation of both Compliance and business strategy
- Contributing to the development of projects and programs to improve compliance and enhance the control environment
- Lead and collaborate with internal teams to provide compliance guidance on new product developments and business initiatives.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and industry associations to ensure proactive compliance practices.
- As part of the Digital Assets Compliance team, lead on initiatives to spread the awareness of Digital Assets products, services and Compliance processes working in partnership with Compliance stakeholders.
- Provide training and education to employees on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices regionally.
- Responding to regulatory enquiries for Compliance, as directed by the Global Head of Digital Assets Compliance and maintaining the required Compliance documentation.
- Contributes to the establishment of key risks indicators (KRIs) and tracking and reporting methodologies as part of a standard system of measurement and reporting for Digital Assets Compliance
- Review and challenge RCSA controls for Compliance, providing guidance in implementing Compliance controls for the Digital Assets Business
- Review, analyze platform related processes and provide Compliance challenge where applicable on Digital Assets Platform Releases
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Law, Business or a related field (advanced degree or certification is a plus)
- 12+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory Affairs, preferably within digital assets, fintech, or financial services.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of Blockchain technology, crypto assets and trading services
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $211,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
