About the Department and/or College

About the Department
The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management offers a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.S. in Kinesiology for over 1,400 undergraduate and 40 graduate students, respectively. The department enrolls over 400 undergraduate students in the B.S. in Sport Management and over 50 master's degree students in the M.S. in Sport Management. It also offers a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology. Its building includes six classrooms, a student computer lab, and faculty offices.
About the College
Founded in 1925 as one of the university's four original colleges, the College of Arts & Sciences is comprised of 15 departments, offering a wide variety of courses and programs in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, physical sciences, and natural sciences. The College has more than 10,000 students enrolled representing more than a quarter of the overall Texas Tech University student population while maintaining a 22:1 student-to-faculty ratio.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Advise undergraduate students (and parents) in person and through zoom on their major/ minor and courses required in the KSM dept. along with answering questions. Work collaboratively as a successful and respectful team in fulfilling all job functions.
  • Prepare and present orientations for University Day and Red raider orientations. Attend training classes and meetings in person and through zoom. Work collaboratively as a successful and respectful team in fulfilling all job functions.
  • Prepares and updates all Kinesiology and Sport Management tracks, degree plans, prerequisites and degree audits and process overrides with instructors' permission. Work collaboratively as a successful and respectful team in fulfilling all job functions.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or the equivalent plus five (5) years progressively responsible experience in a related area. Additional job related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis.

  • Ability to provide good customer service and get along with every coworker.
  • Proficient in typing, multi-task and computer friendly
