National Program Director - Diagnostic Oncology Specialists

This role requires a forward-thinking leader who understands pathology lab eco-systems, oncology diagnostics, biomarker testing with some pharmaceutical experience The NPD will work collaboratively with internal and client leadership as a strategic partner, ensuring the program delivers measurable value, meets performance metrics, and exceeds client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in lab operations, pathology, oncology biomarkers, and pharmaceuticals, combined with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing oncology biomarker teams.

This is a full-time salaried position offering a competitive base salary and attractive bonus potential. Position Summary:

The National Program Director (NPD) is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational execution of Amplity's oncology biomarker team program, including managing and developing a team of Diagnostic Oncology Specialists (BOS).

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to align field-based DOS teams and program objectives with Amplity's and client's goals.
  • Lead with vision, cultivating a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with client leadership to ensure strategic alignment and optimize program value as a trusted advisor.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in oncology biomarkers, diagnostics, and precision medicine to proactively position Amplity and its clients for success.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Attract, hire, and retain top-tier oncology biomarker talent, ensuring the team is highly skilled, motivated, and results-driven.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to DOSs, fostering technical expertise and leadership growth.
  • Create a team-oriented culture that emphasizes collaboration, shared goals, and excellence.
  • Conduct regular field rides and provide actionable feedback to DOSs and managers to enhance performance and effectiveness.

Operational Excellence

  • Translate program requirements and strategic objectives into actionable operational plans for DOSs and managers.
  • Develop performance goals and metrics to ensure the program achieves/overachieves annual business objectives.
  • Monitor team productivity, compliance, and adherence to policies while resolving issues with corrective actions when necessary.
  • Oversee training needs and ensure DOSs have up-to-date knowledge of oncology biomarkers, diagnostics, and client products.
  • Ensure full compliance with Amplity policies, client contractual requirements, and relevant state/federal laws.

Client Partnership and Program Impact

  • Serve as a consultative, collaborative partner to client leadership, fostering trust and delivering value through measurable outcomes.
  • Regularly communicate program updates, insights, and recommendations to clients, engaging Amplity field leadership and project management as needed.
  • Monitor program profitability and effectiveness, collaborating with Finance and Project Management to ensure sustainability.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend national and/or local conventions to represent Amplity and the client program.
  • Manage technology utilization (CRM, reporting tools, etc.) to ensure operational efficiency and accurate data tracking.
  • Handle other duties assigned by Amplity leadership.
  • Ensure theDOS team fully comply with all laws, regulations and Amplity Health Policies, Code of Conduct, terms, and conditions prescribed in the Sample Administration Agreements, PDMA Guidelines, and all privacy and data guidelines and relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Attend National and/or local conventions when applicable.
  • Regularly communicate with Client on program related matters affecting Client (engaging Amplity leadership and Project Management)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Oncology experience required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of oncology biomarkers, diagnostics, and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in specialty pharma sales, oncology, pathology, or diagnostic sales in a leadership capacity.
  • Strategic management experience leading teams
  • Management experience as a second-line leader preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% nationally
  • Experience with diagnostic product launches preferred.
  • Pathology diagnostic experience advantageous and product launch experience desired
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record required.
  • Residence near a major airport.
  • Ability to recruit, retain and develop high performing oncology talent; manage turnover and vacancy process.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude, working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Pass all required Amplity and client training
