Metrology Technician III, Quality Control

Description

We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Metrologist with expertise in analytical instrumentation. This is an on-site position based at our cGMP production facility in New Hope, MN, requiring a five-day work schedule, Monday through Friday. The role supports our Minneapolis quality control labs. Job duties:



  • Assists or takes the lead in troubleshooting and repairing instrument or equipment issues, leveraging creative and independent problem-solving skills to determine the best solutions.
  • Oversees and performs the installation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new equipment within the Quality Control laboratories.
  • Develops calibration sequences, methods, and SOPs based on specific documentation, specifications, and requirements.
  • Delivers training as required on systems and processes.
  • Leads efforts for equipment improvements, relocations, and optimization processes.
  • Administers equipment-related activities in SAP, TrackWise, and ELN systems.
  • Collaborates with Procurement to establish and manage vendor contracts.
  • Alerts Department Management of any nonconforming instruments or equipment and follows up to ensure timely resolution.
  • Investigates equipment calibration failures and other issues using the electronic CAPA/deviation system.
  • Conducts calibration and routine preventative maintenance for laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Disassembles, cleans, repairs, and replaces defective parts in laboratory test equipment as needed.
  • Performs unscheduled calibration or maintenance tasks as necessary to support departmental needs.
  • Coordinates with external calibration and maintenance service providers to ensure timely service.
  • Ensures adherence to calibration and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Maintains up-to-date technical files, including specification sheets and equipment manuals.
  • Conducts and approves calibration and preventative maintenance reviews as applicable.
  • Reviews laboratory reports, procedures, engineering change requests, tooling prints, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • May maintain work orders for glassware and laboratory equipment.


Minimum qualifications:



  • Five or more (5+) years job related experience in onboarding, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting analytical equipment within the pharmaceutical or similar cGMP environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to apply existing work methods to different situations and solves problems ranging from recurring/routine to complex situations.


Preferred qualifications:



  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, or other related fields.
