Western Door Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst (Analytics) to support our government client in Falls Church, VA and San Antonio, TX. Work is generally expected to be fully remote. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Healthcare and Financial Data and Analytics
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their information needs and key performance indicators (KPIs). Elicit, analyze and document business requirements for reporting and dashboard solutions.
- Data Exploration and Analysis: Explore and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies and use the data to tell a story. Perform statistical analysis and data mining to uncover insights and inform decision-making. Validate data quality and accuracy to enable reliable reporting.
- Reporting and Insights Communication: Prepare concise and visually appealing reports summarizing key findings and insights. Present analytical findings to stakeholders, tailoring the presentation to the audience. Provide data-driven recommendations to improve business processes and performance.
- Dashboard and Report Development
- Dashboard Design and Development: Design and develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards using Qlik Sense or Tableau. Create data models and transformations to support dashboard functionality. Implement best practices for data visualization and user experience. Develop and maintain scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). Ensure dashboards are optimized for performance and scalability.
- Dashboard Maintenance: Assist with the monitoring of dashboard performance and troubleshoot any issues. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as refreshes and backups. Incorporate new features and data elements as requested or required.
- User Support and Training: Provide training and support to users on how to use the dashboards effectively. Develop documentation and training materials. Respond to user inquiries and resolve questions in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of MHS Data and programs: Extensive experience in working with MHS Healthcare and financial data sets to include MHS Genesis, GFEBS, Dentrix, DMHRSi, MDR, and other relevant data sets and systems.
- Qlik Sense or Tableau knowledge: Extensive knowledge and at least 2 years of relevant dashboard development experience. Demonstrated capability to conduct all elements of dashboard creation including data and requirements gathering, scripting, and front-end design.
- Industry Knowledge
- Understanding of Military Health Resource Management: Basic to advanced understanding of the technical knowledge, concepts, and terminology common in the military health resource management domain. Specific examples may include knowledge of the Statement of Operations or experience as a military health comptroller or financial analyst.
- Familiarity with Technical Concepts: Ability to comprehend and explain complex financial and healthcare concepts, reports, and tools. Has the ability to take these complex concepts and translate them into analytical products and documentation.
- Project Management Skills
- Task Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines consistently.
- Collaboration: Ability to work closely with other teams such as web/technical developers, tool owners, and subject matter experts.
- Soft Skills
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing tools and processes.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, often across different departments.
