General Purpose
To support and drive execution of Arca Continental (AC)/CCSWB Safety & Environmental and Sustainability programs at the facility level and support CCSWB Market Unit and Supply Chain performance. Execute the AC Safety & Environmental Internal Audit program at the facilities to identify gaps in adherence to AC/CCSWB policies, Federal, State and Local regulations. Leverage the Management System to execute facilitate partnership with facilities and Market Unit Leadership to identify actions needed to remediate issues to ensure compliance to CCSWB Policies, Federal, State and Local regulations, related to Safety & Environmental and Sustainability. Drive consistent SES message(s) at all levels of the organization through interaction with hourly employees up through Market Unit Leadership. Identify and surface potential hazards that may need further review, and possible company program development. Interact with governmental agencies, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, State, Local and other regulatory entities on an as needed basis. Collaborate with Corporate Safety, Environmental and Risk Management to provide support on an as needed basis. Provide facility level technical support for CDP/SBT corporate reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment Process (Health & Safety Risks (JHA's), Environmental Aspects and Impacts) to mitigate risks.
- Implementation of the facilities wastewater quality strategy compliance tracking and review/approval of designs.
- Safety, environmental and sustainability efforts within the facility.
- A culture that ensures "best in class" safety, environmental and sustainability performance.
- Implementation of Corporate Water and Energy BMP's and Maturity Questionnaires
- Conduct or respond to health and safety assessments/analyses in plant to minimize health and safety risks
- Ensure compliance with all PSM requirements and lead PSM team in best practice strategy
- Implement regional management systems related training modules at the facility level: New Hire Orientation, Annual Review, Specialty, Contractor, and Management
- Coordinate and communicate findings from internal and external audits to management staff and ensure items of non-conformance are addressed and corrected according to the Correction Action process guidelines.
- Routinely review and interpret safety, environmental, and sustainability results with plant personnel to maximize facility performance.
- Ensure facility compliance with safety management practices (SMP's) and environmental
- Provide CDP/SBT technical support at the facility level by collaborating with regional team on strategic and tactical initiatives.
- Collaborates closely with Regional Safety and Environmental & Sustainability team to align on regional strategic and tactical plans
- Develop implementation strategies / processes for the certification and maintenance of ISO 14001, ISO-45000 and Federal/OSHA standards.
- Implement and maintain regional medical and emergency response process at the facility level.
- Results from external audits/inspections shall be communicated to the Regional Safety and Environmental teams.
- Seek, share and adopt ideas and best practices in and outside the Company and embrace change introduced by Others
- Implement and execute (Regional) programs and processes to protect the safety and health of employees and environment at the facility level.
- Develop implementation strategies / processes for the certification and maintenance of ISO 14001, ISO-45000 and Federal/OSHA standards.
- Ensure facility compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with state and local regulatory agencies.
- Represent facility on regulatory issues with impact outside local plant.
- Train associates as needed on safety, equipment use (i.e. forklifts) and best practices
- Lead facility safety committee comprised of floor associates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 - 5 years of relevant working experience
- Ability to break down or modify complex safety information as needed to communicate it orally or in writing to staff (e.g., senior managers, customers).
- Ability to accurately read the audience's level of understanding and adjust the message/presentation to deliver it at the appropriate level.
