Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst undertakes a diverse array of accounting and reporting responsibilities, encompassing but not limited to executing a range of accounting tasks, conducting comprehensive financial analyses, preparing financial reports, contributing to annual budget preparation, and executing special projects as delegated.

* Executes general accounting tasks and participates in month-end closing procedures, which involves preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Conducts comprehensive financial analyses to facilitate informed decision-making processes. This includes performing variance analysis, comparing budgeted figures with actual results and identifying significant trends.
* Prepares schedules and documentation for both internal and external auditors, facilitating smooth audit processes.
* Develops and updates internal documentation and procedural manuals to enhance operational efficiency and maintain consistency in accounting practices.
* Collaborates with team members to identify opportunities for process improvement, instituting new procedures to streamline various aspects of accounting operations.
* Provides support for special projects and handles ad hoc assignments as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in meeting evolving business needs.

* Any related duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Education:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis and accounting.
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) certification preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite products particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Abilities:

  • Ability to create analysis on a variety of financial information and identify trends, patterns, and deficiencies and follow-up where needed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and with authority, both in writing and verbally, to others in one-on-one or small group settings.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at various levels of the organization and customers in a helpful, courteous, and friendly manner.

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the requirements above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $76,000.00p/yr. to $86,000.00p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
