The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor-level tenure-track faculty position in the Clinical Psychology program to begin August 16, 2026.

The successful candidate will have a promising program of research, will contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and will demonstrate competency in incorporating principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the research and teaching contexts. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses integratively on mental and/or physical health equity, and particularly in one or more of these areas: (1) Health psychology, which examines the role of behavioral and psychosocial factors in health outcomes; (2) Implementation science, which translates evidence-based approaches from clinical trials into real-world contexts, especially in areas of high need; and/or (3) Person- and community-centered intervention development, which integrates patient and community perspectives into treatment design.

Successful candidates will have a proven track record of impactful research in Clinical Psychology, a potential to secure external funding, and a capacity to contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The range for Assistant Professors is $113,000-$118,000 and the range for Associate Professors is $138,000-$145,000. The research conditions are excellent, and there are extensive opportunities for collaboration on campus and at universities and medical institutions in the Chicago metropolitan area. The standard teaching load for tenure-track faculty in our department is three courses per academic year and final authorization of the position is subject to availability of funding. The Psychology Department is home to a vibrant Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology as well as Ph.D. programs in Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences, Community and Applied Developmental Psychology, and Social and Personality Psychology.
