JOB TITLE:



Lab Technician



LOCATION:



Greenville, MI



REPORTS TO:



Quality Manager



DEPARTMENT:



Manufacturing / Quality / Wastewater





JOB SUMMARY:



The Lab Technician assists in the metallurgical, electrochemical, and wastewater treatment activities.





JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Performs required chemical and physical tests/analysis per quality plan.
  • Hardness verification of hardness testers on sintering lines daily.
  • Thickness, hardness and bond strength measurements of rolled metal samples. Recorded daily.
  • Oversight of data sheets and record retention for each data sheet.
  • Chemical and physical analysis of metal powder properties.
  • Runs x-ray fluorescence, differential scanning calorimetry, and inductively coupled plasma machines.
  • Metallographic analysis of received and finished material.
  • Prepares reports for PPAPs, annual testing, and samples for QSL Lab.
  • Reports and logs test results, prepares material certifications.
  • Performs over-plate analysis (scrapes.)
  • Performs chemical analysis of plating solutions with ICP and titrations
  • Assists with Wastewater treatment operation and testing.
  • Requests/monitors maintenance support necessary to maintain laboratory and WWTP functions.
  • Assists Metallurgist and other Lab personnel in daily tasks.
  • Performs other duties as required.







JOB REQUIREMENTS:



EDUCATION:



Associate Degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or related field preferred. Advanced education in metallurgical, chemical, or environmental courses is a plus.



EXPERIENCE:



Previous laboratory experience preferred. Metallurgical and electrochemical experience having performed chemical/mechanical analysis is a plus. 2-4 years in Waste Treatment and environmental concerns preferred.
