Job Description

Position Title:Mixer Operator - 3rd Shift - $2 Shift Diff

Sunday-Thursday; 1:00pm-9:30pm

Hiring Manager:James Carpenter 3rd Shift Production Supervisor

Location: Avon, OH

Hiring Hourly Rate: $20.66/Hr.

2 Year Earning Potential Based on Performance

6 Months - $21.37

12 Months-$22.05

24 Months- $22.79

Purpose of the Position: Responsible for assembling usable product, verifying Critical Control Points (CCP's) and assure appropriate product transfer to packaging area.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret formulas, follow procedures exactly, and document work on batch sheets
  • Must be able to learn and operate the PLC Touchscreen for kettles
  • Perform sanitation duties including the operation of a Clean-In-Place (CIP) system
  • Set up pathways for product transfer
  • Continual swabbing of cooking equipment
  • Operate multiple kettles at once
  • Operate diaphragm pump
  • Relay important information to R&D team in a timely manner
  • Must be able to operate product scales
  • Operate hydraulics
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Complete all training defined and made available for the current assigned role. Responsible for attending all training made available, assuring full understanding of the training and have the ability to perform trained activities.
  • Responsible for the coordination and review of specific functional area BRC criteria. Ensure BRC protocols are implemented and audited as required. Provide employee training as needed. Ensure Food products meet safety, quality and legal requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Experience:

Education and/or Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED Preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience cooking in a food manufacturing facility preferred

Communication Skills

  • It is essential to have excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
  • Proficient skill in communication, reading, and writing in the English Language.

Computer Skills

  • Perform limited data entry into manufacturing software system.

Mathematical Skills

  • Must have basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Accuracy is a MUST.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Other Qualifications

  • Must be able to complete company's Forklift Certification program.
  • Must be able to use, read, and interpret product scales.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee will often be using a knife. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extremely cold and hot temperatures and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Odor present in the environment. Employee cannot have allergies to food.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee must be able to safely use an electric pallet jack and forklift.
