Maintenance Planner - Elkin, NC

Overview:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the preparation of work schedules for the Maintenance Department. The incumbent works with the Maintenance Supervisor / Manager, Engineering & Maintenance, in developing the scheduled maintenance programs and processes for the facility to minimize impact on production. Interact effectively with others throughout the organization as well as with suppliers, customers, and technical support. Also, must function well as a team leader or participant. Ability and interest to understand processes, interpret data, analyze cause and effect, apply knowledge to new situations, and learn continuously. Must be able to embrace changing priorities and complete work efficiently and on time. Strong computer skills are essential. Must be accurate and timely with information/deliverables. Requires a high degree of mechanical aptitude. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization. Must be willing to assist in other roles as called upon or needed. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and Word required. Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize a computerized maintenance management system

Responsibilities:

Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, equipment availability and skills of personnel including, but not limited to, Fork Trucks, scrap glass pickup, compressors, RO System, autoclave, etc.

• Accurately estimate all resources for work activities.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure parts availability for scheduled work.
• Collaborate with supervisors to determine correct skills for assignment.
• Work closely with supervisor to determine equipment availability for service.
• Ensure schedules are adhered to, or reasons are noted as to why schedule was not.
• Close out all work orders with required information.
• Update maintenance and engineering metrics daily.
• Gather and stage parts for all work orders requiring parts.
• Monitoring inventory levels to ensure parts availability for scheduled work.
• Attend weekly production planning meeting to have knowledge of upcoming work.
• Schedule and lead weekly maintenance planning meetings with required parties / integrate within production planning meeting when necessary.
• Provide daily work order / PM / Check Lists printouts to maintenance, facility, and janitorial personnel.
• Provide PM schedules with required parts based on short term (1 week) to long-term (12 week) planning utilizing equipment hours / cycles and calendar.
• Develop from equipment prints / schematics required parts for PM activities and adjust the SAP maintenance system accordingly.
• Schedule all required training for maintenance, facility, janitorial, and engineering personnel.
• Upholds ISO/TS requirements while reaching future goals of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance.
• Assist Storeroom Attendant with parts orders, inventory management, database accuracy.
• Coordinate gathering / staging of parts for all work orders that require parts.
• Lead weekly planning meeting in order to communicate weekly priorities and assess status of current work;

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with strong, solid manufacturing knowledge, team-building skills, and the ability to assess priorities and act decisively within a fast-paced, demanding environment. It is also important that you display excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a relevant degree is highly preferred
• Candidates with at least 3 years' experience in Manufacturing
• Automotive experience is a plus
• Schedule flexibility
