POSITION SUMMARY:

A strong team member will perform duties including but not limited to electrician and all aspects of mechanical maintenance. Team member will be able to troubleshoot issues to ensure all electrical and mechanical components are in good working order throughout the plant. An Electrician A is expected to be able to perform all functions of an Electrician B & C including the below expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Electrical

  • Install and align electrical motors.

  • Perform basic electrical calculations

  • Perform tasks with all electrical test equipment (voltage meters, meggers, current generators, loop calibrators, etc.)

  • Fabricate and install conduit.

  • Perform soldering operations.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control circuits.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair parts on drives.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot hydraulic systems and air cylinders.

Maintenance

  • Understand the installation and maintenance of all types of bearings.

  • Perform shaft alignments using precision tools.

  • Must be able to disassemble and rebuild all types of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.

  • Able to use equipment manuals, parts lists or blueprints to properly install, repair, or order parts.

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs to hydraulic systems and pneumatics systems.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain variable speed drives.

  • Initiate work orders as required

  • Ensure all inventory parts are correctly charged from warehouse

  • Ensure all parts are available before starting job

Training

  • Run Heavy Equipment (extended forklift, manlift, or maintenance machinery to perform plant and quarry maintenance.)

  • Willing to upgrade skills by participating in vendor training, as well as company-designated training.

Safety

  • Must be well versed on all aspects of safety.

  • Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations at all times.

  • Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner.

  • Ensure maintenance tools are kept in good condition, repaired or replaced when necessary.

  • Process knowledge of the CMMS System to ensure that work orders and checklists are complete accurately.

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Knowledge of PLC

  • Certified Crane Operator Certification Preferred

  • Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.

  • Must be able perform basic mathematical computations

  • Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.

  • Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.

  • Must have a telephone and be open to callouts

  • Self-Motivated and must be able to work independently

  • Good decision-making skills regarding safety

  • Must be able to tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperature, noise, and dust.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

  • Must be able to access all plant locations and perform the essential job duties of this position, including heavy lifting over 50 pounds. This could include heights of 190 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

  • Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry.

  • Must perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.

  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.

  • Ability to occasionally lift/carry 50 pounds

  • Workday or shift work and also be able to take call out as needed. Work as needed if there are issues with equipment in the plant after normal hours or weekends.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

PREFFERED EDUCATION: Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 5+ years mechanical experience including welding, equipment alignments, equipment troubleshooting, reading of blueprints and mechanical drawings.

Candidate must be able to pass an electrical assessment test and have a minimum of 200 hours logged working under the supervision of an Electrician.

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE: Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background.
