Your role as an Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor is crucial in preparing inmates for potential job opportunities in the electronics industry upon their release. By maintaining an inmate work crew and providing on-the-job training and shop instruction, you will equip inmates with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the field of electronics. In addition, your instruction will cover a variety of aspects within the electronics field, from general maintenance to the installation of new fixtures and equipment. You will also need to stay updated on the latest electronic components used in cell doors and sliders, as this knowledge is vital in keeping the correctional facility running smoothly. Overall, your position is vital in helping inmates develop new skills and prepare for a successful reintegration into society.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
