Klune Industries was founded in 1972 in Southern California. More than forty years later, Klune Industries is a preferred supplier to the aerospace and defense industries offering end-to-end solutions for aerospace and defense including sheet metal forming, machining, and assemblies. Klune Industries was acquired by Precision Castparts Corp. in August, 2012.

Position Summary:

The Forming Operator Level 1 is an entry-level role responsible for safely performing a variety of forming tasks under close supervision. Operators will follow work instructions, use templates, jigs, and fixtures, and apply customer specifications to complete forming operations. They will also assist higher-level operators and perform general shop help tasks as needed. This position requires basic mechanical aptitude, the ability to read technical documents and prints, and the use of basic hand tools and measuring instruments such as scales, micrometers, and calipers. Typically requires 0-1 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic forming tasks under direct supervision, including loading raw material onto fixtures, jigs, and presses
  • Carry out forming operations using basic equipment and tools according to customer specifications
  • Perform basic inspections to verify parts meet specifications
  • Maintain work area organization and cleanliness throughout the shift
  • Support shop operations by assisting higher-level operators with various tasks
  • Provide general shop help as assigned, including handling materials, preparing work areas, and supporting production flow
  • Entry-level operators will primarily focus on stretch forming operations

Required Skills:

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and air/power tools
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers, and feeler gauges to complete inspections
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn forming operations
  • Comfort using basic hand tools, light equipment, and measuring instruments
  • Formal work experience preferred but not required (0-1 years)

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent experience or training will also be considered.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.00 to $22.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 104 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
