The PT Supply Chain North America Organization (PTSN) contributes to a better society by connecting across our network to supply therapeutics that give life and hope to our patients. The Logistics Management and Supply Chain Compliance organization is responsible for maintaining a resilient and agile domestic and International logistical network to move our material and medicines. We also ensure corporate wide trade compliance in accordance with the US Customs and Border Protection Agency and the Bureau of Industry and Security requirements for pharmaceutical project, research material, and other company related materials imported or exported into or out of the United States.

The Opportunity

The Business Process Expert (BPE) is responsible for leading operational excellence programs, initiatives and projects to transform the technology and process capabilities across the end-to-end supply chain operations network. The prime responsibility as a Business Process Expert is to plan and orchestrate the realization of continuous improvement ideas and transformation objectives that improve business performance and processes to create value for customers, employees and our environment. Moreover, the BPE works closely with the broader organization and global project teams in applying innovative technologies and methodologies to build the foundations of future digital aspirations and accelerate the execution of our strategy.

What You'll Do

Your general accountability is defined by the Roche corporate directives, guidelines and operating principles, as well as by the company's core values and behaviors. In the particular role you will have the following major responsibilities:

  • Ensure effectiveness of processes, systems and performance measures

  • Lead the implementation strategy, integration planning and enhancement business management for system and process improvements related to key Logistics and Trade Compliance processes

  • Own internal business processes, including system oversight, and be the liaison between business function, IT/OT and other relevant stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met

  • Manage the delivery of initiatives for new system and process capabilities

  • Design solutions that enable agility and target break-through innovation

  • Coach and train people on new technologies or methodologies

  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships across the global network; communicate effectively with leadership and network partners on both routine and complex issues, influencing and driving effective change management cross-functionally

  • Partner across the Global End to End (E2E) Business Capability Organization to ensure business processes are fit for purpose and aligned with the E2E process strategy

Who You Are

  • Ten or more years of experience in Logistics Management, Trade Compliance or equivalent

  • Experience in pharmaceutical and/or cold chain logistics

  • Experience in Trade Compliance and regulatory agency requirements

  • Preferred experience in biotech/pharmaceutical supply chain (Logistics, Trade, and Intercompany)

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to make high-impact decisions autonomously

  • Collaborative mindset, ability to build and maintain cross-functional business relationships

  • Strong analytical skills for effective troubleshooting and problem-solving

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, logistics, or equivalent, advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred

  • Ability to anticipate problems, recommend solutions and implement mitigation plans

  • Certification(s) in Lean Production System or Agile practices are a strong plus

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $121,600 - $225,800. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
