Description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing Associate to support our marketing initiatives for our global audience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys cross-cultural collaboration, and is passionate about science communication.

This role is a critical role in driving membership engagement on the ACS society marketing team.

Responsibilities:



  • Partner with Membership, C&EN and ACSi to execute campaigns aimed at reaching international audiences in key targeted regions and growing ACS' global presence.
  • In partnership with Society Programs and the Events teams, assist in the planning of how ACS shows up at conferences and meetings across the globe.
  • In partnership with the Inclusion & Belonging team, develop marketing content for our partner organizations and promote accessible science work.
  • Support the Audience Engagement and Government Affairs Teams with campaigns to elevate the reputation of science and advance ACS' advocacy efforts through the deployment of high quality, accessible scientific content.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher. Preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of marketing experience preferred, especially with a focus on marketing strategy and campaign execution.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.


Preferred Skills:



  • Ability to quickly establish relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, gain trust, manage expectations, and influence outcomes.
  • Experience with Eloqua or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Experience with Asana work management platform, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with working alongside internal creative teams(design, content, etc.).
  • Background in event planning or support.
  • Desire to learn new skills and grow as a well-rounded marketer.
  • Collaborative and positive attitude of a teammate who is willing to pitch in and support others.
  • Experience designing and executing A/B tests for email campaigns and website pages to improve engagement and conversion rates.
  • Marketing experience within a global organization is preferred.


This role is based in our Washington, DC office. ACS Communications/Marketing employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days (Tue/Wed) per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose.

A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $60,000-65,000 annually.
