Job Description - Automation Technician I

The Automation Technician I is responsible for running, maintaining, and fine-tuning programs on automated equipment used in circuit board assembly. This is primarily an entry-level technician role where you'll learn to ensure machines run efficiently, products meet quality standards, and production processes stay on track.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  • Operate and monitor automated machinery for circuit board assembly.
  • Adjust machines to meet quality standards and resolve production issues.
  • Assist with machine maintenance, repairs, and prototypes as needed.
  • Monitor processes and log results accurately.
  • Fill in for Machine Operators when required.
  • Support workflow in the department and follow all safety/quality procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Computer Programming, PC Repair, Automotive, CNC, or related field (experience may substitute).
  • Mechanical aptitude: ability to take machines apart and reassemble.
  • Knowledge of printed circuit board automation a plus.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Strong hand-eye coordination for working with small electronic parts.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
  • Good communication skills to work in a team environment.


Physical Requirements:



  • Stand or sit for long periods with minimal breaks.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with hands and tools.
  • Good close vision and ability to distinguish colors/fine details.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
