Senior Installation Technician (Mainly MN & WI; 35% Travel)

As a Senior Installation Technician for Donaldson Filtration Services you will be responsible for pre-sale estimating, and post-sale coordinating, executing, and installing of compressed air piping and dust collection systems. As a Sr. Installation Technician you will support multiple industries including but not limited to manufacturing, mining, agriculture, and power generation. Primary geographic responsibility will beMinnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Overnight travel expectations are 35% and you will be provided a company vehicle. This position can be based anywhere in Minnesota and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

• Estimating all aspects of the project scope, from planning to installation.
• Developing duct layout and calculating airflow of system.
• Analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Determining and ordering needed material for installations.
• Visiting job sites to assess conditions and gather necessary information.
• Creating and revising work orders based on field measurements and updates.
• Preparing rough sketches of system layout.
• Reviewing and signing equipment drawings as needed.
• Coordinating scheduling and material orders with internal operations.
• Ensuring installation meets deadlines, budget, and client expectations.
• Resolving on-site challenges swiftly, coordinating any necessary reorders or changes.
• Maintaining client communication throughout and post-install for final approval and feedback.
• Maintaining organized project documentation including quotes, invoices, receipts, cost records, and relevant communications.
• Review final documentation for accurate invoicing.
• Proactively requesting client feedback and reviews.
• Actively seeking opportunities to exceed expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of proven experience in construction estimating and/or project management.
• Must be able to travel including overnight (estimated 35%)
• Ability to work overtime when needed
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze project specifications, identify potential cost savings, and resolve on-site challenges effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain thorough project documentation.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and installation techniques relevant to the specialization.
• Experience with Industrial Air Ventillation or similar trade
• A bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering
• PMP certification or PMI-CP certification
• Mechanical knowledge
• Forklift experience

Hourly Pay Range: $28.71 - $36.53 per hour, depending on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.

This position is overtime eligible as per state and federal regulations.
