Vitro Architectural Glass is seeking a talented individual for a tank senior shift supervisor position at our glass plant in Fresno, CA

The position requires full proficiency in Hot-end Flat Glass operations, including knowledge of furnace bath and lehr operations. Candidates should have a background in production with a minimum of five years of industrial experience, alongside at least seven years of management experience. The successful applicant must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of technical and operational personnel. Additionally, they should possess strong analytical and perceptive skills, enabling them to address problem-solving situations effectively. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with the Union Leadership team to resolve daily issues. Intermediate computer skills are also required for this role.

This position is responsible for developing and organizing production processes, as well as managing improvement projects and controlling various production methods. The incumbent will focus on enhancing safety, optimizing quality, and training and developing shift supervisors and leads. Responsibilities also include maintaining hot repairs and furnace operations, as well as maximizing speeds and yields in Flat Glass Operations. Additionally, the role involves improving processes related to annealing, forming, and more.

- The incumbent will administer, direct, supervise, and be accountable for all activities in the Hot-End of the plant, as well as yard and furnace operations. This role requires the efficient development of strategies to utilize personnel, equipment, materials, utilities, and budget to meet the plant's requirements for safety, environment, quality, labor, and expenses.
- The primary responsibility of the incumbent is the organization and improvement of quality, safety, housekeeping, and overall plant productivity. Acting as a production team leader, the incumbent will ensure the maximum utilization of equipment and employees to meet daily production goals.
- This position involves frequent communication with Production Control, the Wareroom, the Float Process Department, and Quality Control to guarantee that customer quality and delivery requirements are met 100% of the time.
- Additionally, the incumbent will have regular contact with the Plant Engineering and Maintenance staff, who are responsible for the engineering, maintenance, and operation of Glass Products equipment, to enhance performance.
- The incumbent works closely with operators and shift supervisors to coordinate production equipment repairs to achieve all production objectives.
- The role requires ensuring that all new equipment and modifications to existing equipment comply with safety standards established by the company and government agencies.
- The incumbent will assist in testing and debugging all Glass Products equipment to ensure a smooth start-up. This position may also involve developing and conducting training sessions for newly installed or modified equipment, focusing on employee knowledge enhancement, cost reduction, maximum efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Furthermore, the incumbent is responsible for training and developing shift supervisors and leads on any new equipment or processes introduced into the Flat Glass Operations.
- This position requires frequent inspections of equipment and processes, as well as collaboration with supervisors, peers, and operating personnel to develop new methods and equipment that will improve quality and promote a more efficient and stable operation.
- The incumbent will provide coverage during shifts when the shift supervisor is ill or on vacation.
- Basic duties common to all supervisors are to be performed by the incumbent, who must adhere to plant safety and housekeeping guidelines, support local management and corporate Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies, and maintain an atmosphere of confidence, mutual trust, and respect among employees.

- Providing 24-hour assistance for Production.
- Training shift supervisors and Leads on new systems.
- Making recommendations and providing user-friendly intuitive systems for use by Shift supervisor and leads.

- WORKING CONDITIONS:
Describe the working environment (e.g., office, plant).
The incumbent works in a 24/7 glass products manufacturing environment with exposure, for example, to any or all of the following - Exposure to dust, moving vehicles, heavy equipment, moving machinery, chemicals (liquid, gas and solid) temperatures/materials in excess of 1500 degrees (F), broken and breaking glass, overhead cranes, confined areas, high noise, and the full range of ambient temperatures.
The incumbent must be capable of safely operating vehicles, observing and responding to the total environment, both stationary and moving; be capable to reading instructions and gages; be capable of operating in "limited" spaces.
The incumbent will also spend 40% in an office environment.

On Call 24 hours, frequent after hours and weekend work, 5%-10% travel.
