IMMEDIATE PATIENT FINANCIAL COUNSELOR OPENING OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST ONCOLOGY PRACTICES IN THE AREA FULL TIME POSITION WITH ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT MARLTON, NJ (ON SITE, ONLY) MONDAY - THURSDAY 745AM-515PM + FRIDAY 745AM-12PM $30/HR Qualifications: * 3 years medical billing/patient financial counselor experience * Experience assisting patients with alternative coverage/drug assistant programs * Experience handling grant funding coordination * EMR and billing software knowledge Description Patient Financial Advocacy: Meet with patients to assess financial needs and insurance coverage. Educate patients on available financial assistance programs, including manufacturer copay cards, foundation grants, and state/federal aid. Assist patients in completing applications for financial aid, charity care, and drug assistance programs. Pharmacy Benefit Optimization: Collaborate with pharmacy teams to identify cost-saving opportunities through insurance formularies, specialty pharmacy programs, and patient assistance programs. Monitor and track pharmacy benefit eligibility and renewals. Grant and Funding Coordination: Research and maintain a database of current oncology-related grants and charitable foundations. Submit and track grant applications on behalf of patients. Maintain relationships with external funding organizations and pharmaceutical assistance programs. Insurance and Billing Support: Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage details to patients. Work with billing and revenue cycle teams to resolve financial barriers to care. Provide cost estimates and payment plan options when applicable. Documentation and Compliance: Accurately document all patient interactions and financial assistance efforts in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations regarding patient financial information. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
