JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY OF POSITION Recovery is the personal and unique process through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential while overcoming substance use challenges. The Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS) Counselor provides individual and group therapeutic services to support clients in achieving and maintaining recovery from substance use disorders. This position provides comprehensive substance use counseling services for individuals experiencing addiction and co-occurring behavioral health concerns. Services may include assessment, treatment planning, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, crisis intervention, and coordination of care. The counselor works collaboratively with clients to develop personalized recovery goals and connect them with community and internal resources to support long-term recovery and stability. Provides therapeutic interventions to promote personal growth and resiliency in the form of emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and/or psychological changes in clients with a primary behavioral health and/or substance use diagnosis. Performs ongoing assessment of client needs and functioning, maintains appropriate documentation, and develops and implements individualized treatment plans consistent with the client's therapeutic needs.
