Facility Space Planner The Facility Space Planner is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies for short, medium, and long-term space needs. This role entails creating detailed stacking plans, generating in-depth reports and cost estimates, and collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure that space utilization aligns with the organization's goals. Proficiency in AutoCAD is a core requirement. Additionally, the candidate must be skilled in developing precise scopes of work for projects such as GSA's Workplace Engagement Services, which evaluate human and space requirements. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facility Space Planner: $140,000.00-$155,000.00 per year. Pay commensurate with experience. Facility Space Planner Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the development of innovative methods to assist the planning team in coordinating facility infrastructure requirements with operational and space requirements.
- Assist in providing input to the team and executive leadership on translating requirements into a comprehensive facility reuse and upgrade requirements.
- Perform quality assurance for draft and final products to ensure they are accurate, consistent and the recommendations are achievable.
- Assist in performing assessment of current facilities and of non-facility and facility alternatives to address identified gaps between facility requirements and current capabilities.
- Assist in reviewing design documents for conformance with advance planning artifacts.
- Assist in making system-wide recommendations.
- Complete monthly status reports of all on-going actions.
- Complete briefings, information papers, and other management materials as required in support of assigned sites.
- Perform review of facilities-related governance documentation and provide comments and recommended edits, as necessary to align documentation with facility planning best practices.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Facility Space Planner Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Community Planning, or a related field is necessary, coupled with extensive experience in space planning and workplace strategy.
- Minimum 3 years' related work experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD and a solid track record of creating detailed reports and cost estimates while collaborating with senior leadership are vital qualifications for this role.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical designs and drawings is required.
- Excellent communication skills both oral, visual and written.
- Strong computer skills working with Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, (CPP) Comprehensive Planning Platform, and NexGen IT preferred.
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to process contacts with internal and external constituents with diplomacy and tact, in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner.
- This position is onsite at HHS Washington DC or Rockville, MD locations.
- Travel only within the National Capital Region required.
- Ability to complete and pass a background check.
- Public Trust security clearance is required.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
