Summary:

The incumbent will focus on the Bank's target segments including commercial, non-profit, and municipal clients and prospects. Assists in sales, implementation and service of the Bank's business banking products and services to new and prospective clients. Provides superior service to clients, prospects and internal partners. Collaborates with commercial lenders and Banking Center staff to acquire and expand relationships and assist clients. Evaluates current and prospective client accounts to ensure needs are properly addressed, and account structures are appropriate. Also provides support to Government Banking department.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



Account Management

1. Sells and services all aspects of business banking products & services. Reviews checking account needs and matches appropriate products. Customizes accounts when appropriate. Aggregates business client accounts to ensure they have the appropriate products and services. Maximizes Treasury Management options based on clients' unique needs.

2. Reviews fees to determine the most appropriate fee structure and analyzes relationship profitability.

Business Development

1. Makes calls on current and prospective clients (businesses, non-profits and municipals)

2. Accompanies commercial lenders and banking center managers on calls.

3. Analyzes relationships to determine which clients may benefit from products and identify cross-selling and opportunities to expand relationships.

4. Generate fee income with the sale of business services products and margin revenue with a focus on acquiring new DDA balances.

5. Independently generate leads for deposit-only calling efforts.

6. Facilitate and manage a strong sales pipeline for business services activity. Ensure timely updating of pipeline tracking for management reporting.

7. Works with Banking Centers and Commercial Lenders to develop cross-selling techniques. Train staff to identify potential referrals.

8. Assists Government Banking sales process. Match client and prospect needs to system capability with product offerings.

9. As part of the role of Bank officer, promotes the Bank's products and services in daily interaction with others.

10. As opportunities arise, promote additional products and services to existing or prospective customers.

11. Actively participates in community and professional organizations.

Customer Service

1. Provides on-going support and follow-up to make sure systems are working properly.

2. Provides direction on the business internet-banking product in areas such as password issues, pricing issues, functionality questions, customization situations, issue resolution, and managing crises.

3. Responds to client inquiries about business banking services.

Operations Management

1. Has full working knowledge of system capabilities and process steps.

2. Remains up to date on all regulations and laws, documentation requirements, policies and procedures related to treasury management and business banking products & services.

3. Remains current on new and upcoming technology that may benefit the Bank.

4. Complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

5. Stays up to date on compliance developments related to treasury management and business banking.

6. May participate on various committees on behalf of the department and provides input and advice on business issues.

7. Provides support necessary to promote and support the acquisition of new Bank clients.





EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:




  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Holds at least one of the following certifications (may be obtained within 24 months of employment):


    • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP)
    • Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP)
    • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:




  • Specialized knowledge of treasury management and business banking
  • Knowledge of merchant services preferred
  • At least five years of business development and relationship building experience working with businesses
  • At least five years of experience in banking, preferably in treasury management, retail banking and/or lending
  • Ability to engage clients and prospects review of cash flow discussion to identify areas of opportunity and position the Bank's products and services effectively
  • Strong networking, influencing and business development skills
  • Practical business knowledge - ability to understand and prioritize business issues
  • Well-developed analytical, organizational, decision-making skills, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Cyber security awareness to protect the bank and clients
  • Technology Savviness/Digital Enthusiast
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
