Summary:

The primary responsibility for the Equipment Technician position is collecting, analyzing, and reporting the health of rotating equipment. This is based on multiple technologies including vibration, pressure, thermography, oil analysis, pump and motor performance, compressor and engine performance, and key operating parameters. This position works closely with operations, engineers, specialists, and maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and repairs. This position will have knowledge of, support, and promote the company's Operation and Maintenance Principles program. This position will provide support for multiple sites.

This role has a current pay range of $37.80/hr - $53.00/hr. The listed pay range represents the company's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment. The position may be based out of one of our Popular Buff, Twelve Mile, St. Jacob, Joppa, and Johnsonville compressor stations.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • Maintain vibration analysis program. Establish equipment routes and frequency. Collect and enter equipment data necessary for proper vibration analysis.
  • Proficient with rotating and/or reciprocating equipment analysis techniques and perform as required.
  • Proficient with motor and/or engine analysis techniques and perform as required.
  • Maintain lube oil analysis program establishing routes and frequency.
  • Periodic (monthly, quarterly, etc.) data acquisition from equipment, including vibration and pressure data with portable systems, critical machinery performance metrics (flow rates, equipment rotating speed, temperatures, and process flow characteristics), and lube oil samples and analysis.
  • Perform analysis of data to resolve or proactively anticipate equipment failures.
  • Lead and/or assist in root cause failure analysis utilizing the TapRoot process.
  • Implements continuous monitoring systems, such as alarm, report, and acceptance regions.
  • Assist the area in the scheduling of repairs by taking ownership of notifications and corresponding follow-up.
  • Monitor equipment repairs in the field and at vendor shops. Use this information to improve equipment analysis.
  • Report equipment deficiencies in the SAP system making recommendations for corrective action.
  • Collaborate with responsible Maintenance/Reliability Specialists, engineers, planners, Operation Managers, and supervisors to ensure proper priorities are placed on deficiencies and a continuous learning/improvement process is fostered.
  • Support the lubrication program by monitoring its effectiveness or, when required, take samples, interpret analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties related to this function to ensure the reliability of equipment in the operating area of responsibility.


Required education:



  • High School Diploma or GED


Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:



  • Level C requires a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience in an oil and gas operations role or equivalent work experience.
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in an oil and gas operations role or equivalent work experience.
  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in an oil and gas operations role or equivalent work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret and analyze data.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office suite.


Working Conditions:

  1. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions.
  2. Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials, and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery. All of which require appropriate personal protective equipment.
  3. Frequent heavy lifting with and without assistance.
  4. Work on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practices.
  5. Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays.
  6. Reliable attendance at work.
  7. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
