SUMMARY: This role supervises the daily shift activities of the molding production team, including machine operators and all technical roles within the department. Responsibilities include orientation and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Expectations include promoting safety in the workplace, follow all safety rules as well as being able to recognize and correct unsafe work conditions. This role must motivate their team to work towards achieving the goals of the molding department and will assist with department cost improvements by improving standards and overall efficiency. The supervisor must ensure their team is adhering to all policies, procedures, and work rules at all times. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. * Promote a Zero injury / incident culture * Effectively communicate and present data to team members * Identify and develop people to promote within the organization * Set clear and consistent performance expectations for employees and instill a culture of accountability * Ability to properly and fully investigate customer complaints (internal & external) * Ensure all reviews are fair, consistent and timely across the shift and department. * Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by all and actions for non-compliance are fair, consistent and timely * Fully investigate and determine root cause for accidents/near misses with clear communication to all employees on root causes and expectations * Must follow all work rules and policies 25% Managing and scheduling of work and personnel, coaching and developing team through use of performance reviews, counseling reports, training documents, meetings, etc. 10% Update production reports and daily activity sheets 50% Be on the production floor assisting with daily operation of Grandview Molding Operations. Including troubleshooting, training/development of team, scrap reduction and continuous improvements projects. 5% Develop, analyze and report on improvement projects 10% Lead safety improvements and activities to drive for zero injuries QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from accredited institution or 4-6 years of related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Experience with ISO9001/14001 preferred * Scientific Injection Molding experience is preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Includes employee issues, process issues, and scheduling conflicts. Decision-making includes scheduling, work appraisals, rewarding/disciplining employees, training and addressing complaints and problems. Identify performance trends within the department through analytics and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions for customer complaints both internal and external.
