At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We're not just building rockets-we're architecting the manufacturing systems that will make orbital spaceflight routine. As VP of New Glenn Manufacturing, you'll lead the most ambitious production scale-up in commercial space history, transforming our operations from low-rate production into a high-volume manufacturing powerhouse capable of flying dozens of missions per year.

This is your chance to write the playbook for mass-producing orbital-class launch vehicles.

The Challenge

New Glenn is Blue Origin's orbital heavy-lift rocket, designed to fundamentally change the economics of space access. Your mission: architect and execute the manufacturing strategy that takes us from careful craft production to aerospace-grade mass manufacturing-all while maintaining the uncompromising quality standards spaceflight demands.

You'll own the entire New Glenn manufacturing vertical at our Florida facilities, leading an interdisciplinary team to establish the processes, systems, and culture needed for unprecedented production rates in the launch vehicle industry.

What You'll Do

Scale Manufacturing Operations

  • Architect the end-to-end manufacturing strategy for New Glenn, from subassembly operations through final integration
  • Design and implement factory flow optimizations that maximize throughput within existing facilities-driving first-pass yield, learning curve acceleration, and on-time delivery
  • Build scalable feeder shop systems and production architecture that can flex with rapid rate increases

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Own P&L accountability for New Glenn manufacturing, managing CapEx/OpEx to deliver world-class performance in cost, quality, and schedule
  • Establish data-driven planning and scheduling systems with real-time dashboards that enable proactive decision-making
  • Deploy Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies across the production ecosystem

Lead at Scale

  • Build, develop, and inspire large manufacturing teams across multiple facilities
  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, and operations to solve complex integration challenges
  • Champion organizational change initiatives that shape culture, define tools and processes, and elevate capabilities
  • Export best practices and standard methodologies across the Blue Origin enterprise

Deliver Results

  • Execute micro and macro-level process improvements that drive measurable gains in safety, cost, and velocity
  • Manage supplier ecosystems and optimize MRP systems for high-volume production
  • Apply rigorous mission assurance standards while accelerating production timelines
What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of manufacturing leadership with progressive responsibility in complex production environments
  • Factory/Plant leadership experience managing P&L and large-scale operations
  • Proven track record scaling production rates-you've led multiple transitions from low-rate to high-volume manufacturing
  • Deep technical expertise in manufacturing processes, subassembly operations, supply chain integration, and MRP optimization
  • CapEx/OpEx management experience building scalable manufacturing architectures
  • Transformational leadership skills-you build high-performing teams, drive organizational change, and develop talent at all levels
  • BA/BS degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong business acumen, communication skills, and commitment to quality and mission assurance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 20+ years in aerospace manufacturing (launch vehicles, aircraft, helicopters) or analogous high-volume industries (automotive, shipbuilding, heavy equipment)
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business
  • Lean/Six Sigma/TPS expertise with applied experience
  • Hands-on knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes: machining, composites, aerostructures, welding, harness fabrication
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms
  • Existing relationships with aerospace suppliers and subcontractors
