Description We are seeking a visionary Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge, cloud-first data solutions. This role is pivotal in driving our data strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation in a rapidly evolving healthcare technology landscape. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms like AWS and Snowflake (or similar), experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, and a working understanding of HL7and FHIR data protocols. You will play a key role in building robust data pipelines, designing systems to ingest and process unstructured data (e.g., images, PDFs), and transforming it into structured data products. Familiarity with tools like Intellicare or IRIS from Intersystems, as well as experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, will be advantageous. This position can support telework up to 90% with 10% travel as needed. Key Responsibilities Data Architecture Leadership:
- Design and implement enterprise-level data architectures that align with business goals and cloud-first strategies.
- Develop and deploy data fabric/data mesh solutionsfor the enterprise, enabling decentralized data ownership and governance.
- Lead the adoption and migration to modern data platforms, includingAWS,Snowflake, andSalesforce Data Cloud.
EHR Data Expertise:
- Architect solutions for ingesting, processing, and analyzingEHRdata, ensuring compliance withHL7andFHIRstandards.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate clinical data into analytics platforms.
Data Pipeline Development:
- Build scalable, efficient data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform structured and unstructured data.
- Develop systems to extract text content from unstructured data sources (e.g., PDFs, images) and load it into structured data products likeIntellicareorIRIS.
Integration Frameworks:
- Build and maintain integration frameworks connectingSalesforcewithAWSservices (S3, Redshift, Lambda, SQL DBs) andEHRplatforms (Epic, Cerner) using FHIR/HL7 standards.
- Develop and maintain integrations betweenAWS services(S3, Redshift, Lambda, SQL DBs),Snowflake, and other enterprise systems.
Cloud-First Strategy:
- Drive the migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Optimize data storage and processing inAWSandSnowflakeenvironments.
Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for scalability, security, performance, and compliance.
- Maintain architecture artifacts, solution diagrams, and integration documentation.
- Ensure compliance withHIPAAregulations, enterprise security policies, and healthcare data privacy standards.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior architects and engineers in best practices for data architecture and cloud technologies.
Qualifications: Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- US Citizenship is required for this position with ability to obtain security clearance as needed.
- Bachelor's degree inComputer Science,Engineering, or a related field. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- 8+ years of relevant experience including enterprise data architecture and delivery.
- Expertise inAWS(e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda) andSnowflake.
- Experience in healthcare or life sciences industries with knowledge ofEHRintegration patterns (FHIR,HL7,Epic,Cerner) and secure healthcare data exchange.
- Proven experience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured data.
- Experience with unstructured data processing, including OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for extracting text from images and PDFs.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database design principles.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Advanced degree inComputer Science,Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying data fabric/data mesh solutionsfor the enterprise, enabling decentralized data ownership and governance.
- Familiarity with tools likeIntellicareorIRISfrom Intersystems.
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows and AI-driven data processing.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Certifications in AWS, Snowflake, or Salesforce.
