WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Performance Engineer in our Milwaukee, Oak Creek, Port Washington, Green Bay, or Weston, Wisconsin locations. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.

This position is part of a job family (Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Principal Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies, processes, and analytics applicable to the PG fleet that will optimize unit performance in the MISO energy market.
  • Assist fleet in performing, trakcing, and correcting capacity tests.
  • Using analysis of plant performance and knowledge of power plant operations, make recommendation to plant management for improvements of generating unit efficiency, availability, and capacity.
  • Evaluation of system performance through modeling, development of system designs, maintenance and/or operations activities, incident investigations, troubleshooting systems and equipment and testing materials.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies and assess applicability for achieving greater PG asset performance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • MISO experience

End Date: 11/19/2025

Pay Range Minimum: $76,932.70

Pay Range Maximum: $152,615.06

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
