The Galls Assistant Merchant - Footwear/Hardgoods is responsible for delivering all tactical execution in support of the merchandising strategy. Serves as the accountable owner for item data set-up, content and integrity, timely purchase order delivery, vendor communication and relationship integrity and supports all efforts toward achieving merchandising deliverables. Works closely with vendor community to secure accurate product data and fully owns all product data set-up, accountable for accuracy and timeliness. Supports the Merchant and Associate Merchant in all efforts to execute on merchandising, product, and vendor strategies. Leads the efforts to build vendor engagement through Vendor Days, Transform and Summit. Works cross-functionally to implement merchandising strategies. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Gain full expertise in Galls Item Set-up to facilitate the accurate and timely set-up of products. Secure vendor-supplied data through the Vendor Product Form and Vendor Portal, checking for completeness and accuracy. Complete data-entry process with Galls requirements. Ensure all data points are complete and accurate, including securing product photo files and supply chain data.
- Serve as the first line of communication within Merchandising on order delivery. Actively works with Inventory Management Team and Vendors to improve PO delivery times, reduce backorders, clear past due orders, and reduce lead times. Regularly reviews all open orders and actions accordingly to clear open orders to deliver high On Time, In Full metrics.
- Works closely with Merchants and Associate Merchants to ensure execution on strategic initiatives with operational excellence. Actively builds and leverages vendor relationships to deliver on commitments.
- Supports the preparation of and engages actively in the execution of Product Line Reviews including reporting, vendor communication, scheduling, sample management and data mining.
- Owns and supports vendor engagement opportunities including in-store trainings, Transform, Vendor Days and Summit. Secures vendors, provides logistical direction and follow-through, and ensures all deliverables are met.
- Clears weekly execution dashboards including PO discrepancy, sales request tickets, New Item Requests, and other requests.
- Supports the preparation of Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews and other vendor and executive level interactions.
- Supports the achievement of Merchant performance including Sales, Margin, Turn, GMROI.
- Accountable for Item Set-up deliverables including accuracy and timeliness.
- Accountable for delivering on Past Due, Back Order, Lead Time and Fill Rate performance measures.

- A bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance or Business Management is preferred
- Highly Proficient/Advanced in Excel, experience utilizing data tools such as Qlik, PowerBI, or other data-mining tools a plus.
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of public safety, military, law enforcement or workwear industry a plus, not a requirement.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt readily to change and work within a high-paced environment with autonomy
- Strong analytical skills, ability to convert data into information and present insights.
