Class II AHU Fabricator - 2nd Shift

Location:Albany, MO
Shift:2nd Shift | Full-Time

Pay: $20.84/hour + ($1.00/hour Shift Premium)

At Johnson Controls Inc. (Albany Plant), we build custom high quality, commercial air handlers from sheet metal. We are hiring for Class II Fabricators on our 2nd shift team!

What You Will Do

  • Ensure hardware and components match BOM

  • Install components securely and ensure proper fit and alignment according to the Spec Sheet.

  • Prepare product to be painted and shipped Installs hardware and custom parts into assembly per specification for HVAC Units

  • Identifies proper parts to compete assemblies by reading specification sheet and blueprints

  • Utilizes rivet gun, air gun, knife, welding and other hand tools to perform duties

  • Operates bridge crane or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area

  • Performs preventative maintenance and makes minor machine repairs as needed

  • Responsible for adhering to a production schedule, ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and secured and ensuring that safety standards are always met

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints and build plans preferred

  • Previous experience in an industrial setting a plus!

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and comprehend the English language - this includes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals)

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Math Ability

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to compute rate and percent and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Computer Skills

  • Basic computers skills required

Certificates & Licenses

  • Operating a fork truck is essential function and operator must be licensed by the Company before operating a fork truck
